Listen, mister, if the Torpedo Custom Wagon with its chrome fender accents isn’t good enough for you, with the option of the Silver Streak 8 (!), then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s cutting edge, mister. It’s a whole new generation and newly modernized suspension, not stuck in the past like the competition. Why, I could mention a few things. Does the American housewife want to be whisked about with a delivery truck in disguise? No, sir, she wants one of our new C-body cars, with every modern refinement.

What, so I can buy *her* the Silver Streak 8, and I won’t be able to have a Buick Super with the Fireball 8? And no sir, don’t you even start on how I can afford the Pontiac and a Buick Special. I’ll tell you something, Mr. Harley J. Earl himself designed that new Buick Super for ME. That’s right, I was in Detroit not too long ago and he said, “Now look, Robert, that new Super is going to come out, and you aren’t going to want that 1942 Roadmaster. That Super is going to be what you want. The style will be better than anything you’ve seen before.”

But I didn’t listen to him, no sir. I ordered a ‘42 Roadmaster, and that’s what I’m going to drive. Now I can pick up those International KB wagons real cheap, I tell ya, and she’s going to be just happy with that until I can get one of those new Carryall Suburbans.

I have one of these, a 41, its been in my family since new, and less than 30k mi. Me and my sister in front of it when we brought it home in 1979, had been stored at my aunts since the 50s. Been garaged almost all of its life.

It’s the best model (IMHO) too, the Streamliner coupe. VERY nice.
